2024-2025 High School Registration

The team competes at regattas across the state, region, and nationally. Program runs for the full academic year (Fall and Spring). We have both a Varsity squad for experienced rowers and a Novice squad for first year rowers. We strongly encourage our High School athletes to commit to the full academic year to get the most benefit of the progressive training program. We understand not everyone is able to make that commitment and do have options for participating in just the fall or spring seasons.

Practices are weekdays from 3:30-6:00 pm and Saturdays from 8:00-10:30 am. Varsity practices start Monday, August 12th. Freshman and Novice practices start Monday, August 19th.

Needs-based scholarships are available for anyone to participate. Please submit scholarship applications as soon as possible. Turn around time for applications is usually within 5 days. Families requesting 90% assistance are not eligible for installment payments. All financial aid recipients intending to forgo the installment option and pay the entire fee up front should await confirmation of aid approval before entering a payment method on file. You will receive instructions at that time with steps to take to have your aid credited to your account.

VBR is a non-profit organization that relies heavily on the contributions of its member volunteers to be successful. High School families are required to complete a minimum of 20 volunteer hours over the course of the academic year.

We offer a free two week trial period for rowers who are new to our program. Please email our Accounts Manager to arrange for this option. New rowers should wait until the end of the trial period before following the registration process outlined below.

Registration Steps

VBR is using Boathouse Connect (BHC) to manage registration for our programs. If your child is new to Boathouse Connect, please follow the steps outlined below to create an account and register with the High School team.

Rowers that already have an account with Boathouse Connect

Log into your child's Boathouse Connect account, navigate to Groups > My Groups and select either the High School - Full Year, or High School -Fall option, and then click on the Join Group button to the right. A 'Fee Required' notice will pop up. This is where you may choose to enroll in the payment plan ($2,340 over 8 months), or to pay the one-time join fee ($2,300) immediately. If you want to utilize the payment plan but do not see that option, click the cancel button and contact our Accounts Manager for assistance. Entering a payment method on file is required to participate in the payment plan option (except financial aid recipients who should skip this step until notified of grant approval). Please do not make any additional payments at registration. Your payment method will be charged automatically.
